Born in July 1998, Nicolette Alexander is a London-based artist, hailing from the sunny beaches of Southern California. Much of her work is inspired by travels, places, and the environment around her. While traditionally she paints & draws realistic/representational pieces, she also enjoys experimenting with more abstract subject matters.
Her work is a reflection of her diverse experiences and the way she perceives the world around her. Nicolette’s art takes on various forms, mirroring her current state of mind and personal growth. Each piece represents a different personality and style, capturing the essence of where she is at in her artistic exploration.
She looks to her art as a captivating reflection of her journeys, the intricacies of the world, and the profound emotions they evoke.
“Art is really just my way of bringing permanence to some of the most fleeting moments, experiences and things we take on in life. All of my paintings are directly inspired by a place or a snapshot in time that made me feel something in some way.”
While landscapes and cityscapes, are often her wheelhouse, Nicolette regularly finds herself drawn towards more surreal visuals that come to mind in dreams and on walks. London has always been a massive pocket of inspiration for Nicolette. Often times when she needs to reflect or take some time to herself, she goes for long walks around London with her music in; taking in the city by the quiet hours of the night.
Nicolette believes in the power of creativity to solve problems and overcome challenges, and her work reflects this belief. Through her art, Nicolette hopes for viewers to explore their own emotions and connections to the world around them, encouraging a deeper understanding of themselves and the human experience.
